Cecafa has fined Tanzania’s Yanga FC $35,000 (Shs53.2m) and banned it from taking part in the next three editions of the Cecafa Club Championship.

The club boycotted the third place play off match against rivals Simba in Dar es Salaam on Sunday over a dispute in gate collections.

“It was a very sad day in the history of football in the region,” general secretary of Cecafa Nicholas Musonye told Daily Monitor.
