Kheri's players under pressure

Burying the hatchet is supposed to mark a new era; not so at KCC FC. The pressure group Save Our KCC (SOK) has recently caused more havoc at Lugogo than the striking pair of Yusuf Kinene and Anthony Bongole did in KCC FC’s 1-0 loss to Police last weekend.

Under-fire KCC coach Hussein Kheri

SOK sprouted early this year and accused Dr. Hasib Takuba’s executive of killing KCC. Comprising KCC diehards John Matovu, John Mutenda, Moses Kalungi, Emmanuel Serunjogi and Fred Mubiru, SOK wanted Takuba and part of his executive removed.

The pressure group has, however, since agreed to set aside their differences with Takuba and forge ahead.
“We are now working together as a team until the end of the season when we shall start from where we stopped,” a SOK member told The Weekly Observer.

KCC has been unimpressive in the City Tyres Super League, which may force SOK to rekindle their coup campaign. After starting strongly with a 4-2 win over Mityana UTODA, KCC could only manage draws against minnows Gulu Black Rangers and Victor.

The loss to Police was too bitter for the KCC fans to swallow. The players and Coach Hussein Kheri left crestfallen after Martin Muwanga capitalized on a blunder by KCC defender Ronald Apangu to score Police’s winner.
“These players are not serious; if they do not want to play for KCC they should just leave,” an angry fan shouted after the match.

KCC may now fail to qualify for the league quarterfinals yet their group (consisting Police, Gulu Black Rangers, Victor and UTODA) looked the easiest.
Hussein Mbalangu’s UTODA on the other hand is so impressive. The Mityana-based side beat Gulu Black Rangers 6-0 over the weekend.

Police have two victories and a draw, leaving KCC, Victor and Gulu Black Rangers to fight for the crumbs.
While KCC is having nightmares, Express is emerging from the dead. The Red Eagles came from a goal down to beat Kampala United 2-1 last Friday. Express fans, however, demanding to have just two coaches. The fans apparently want Godfrey Nyola and Ibrahim Buwembo to coach the team instead of the present sextet.
