Feeling confident

After scoring on his debut in the corresponding first round fixture against Utoda, new recruit Misi Katende told sc-villa.com that since that 3-0 win, the team has been in high spirits and working out their drills full of confidence.
Katende has not been around long enough but he says that there is a very big difference between now and then when he had just arrived at the club. “It was a quiet and an unsure state of affairs when I was brought in by the manager. The team could not win and everyone was talking about how we were going to be relegated. It was worrying.”
But how much good a win can do for the players’ psychology. “We now believe we can beat anyone and that it will be difficult for anyone to beat us. During the league recess, we have played a couple of friendly matches and done well in them, so we are convinced that the second half of the season is going to be good for us.”
Villa beat Water FC 2-1, a Super League team and Ndejje University FC 3-0, a Big League team and against that, they are buoyed going into the second round. “Everyone in the team only believes in one thing- climbing up the table and showing that we can still fight for the league title. But first, let us get the business done against Utoda,” Katende concluded.
