| IBRAHIM BUWEMBO’S
MEDDLING WITH SC VILLA PLAYERS
-------------------------------------------------
SC Villa has noted with great concern the unprofessional
and fraudulent activities of one Ibrahim Buwembo, who is meddling
with the affairs of our club by smuggling our players out
of the country – in particular goalie Posnet Omwony
to South Africa.

More recently, Buwembo has tried to corrupt youthful player
Augustine
Nsumba – trying to confuse him to illegally abscond
and defect to Rwanda without following the proper channels
and FIFA guidelines on international transfers of players
across clubs and federations.
SC Villa wishes to stage that Mr. Ibrahim Buwembo has no
rights over our players let alone market them anywhere in
Uganda or across borders. The club has its own nominated agents.
If Buwembo wishes to operate in the international players’
transfer market, let him get FIFA accreditation as a FIFA
Players’ Agent and/or sign a formal and legally binding
contract with SC Villa clearly stating the obligations of
all parties.
This therefore serves as a last warning to Buwembo, or anyone
else, at FUFA or the National Council of Sports who may be
too greedy or be tempted to illegally export SC Villa’s
players to Rwanda, South Africa or any other destination without
the due authorisation of the club. We shall take up the matter
with the relevant authorities at NCS, CAF and FIFA –
and in the courts of law in Uganda.
While SC Villa will never bar any of its players from seeking
higher professional football or academic careers, any such
transfers must be done within FUFA and FIFA rules regarding
the international transfer of players.
We hope the current NCS and incoming FUFA administration
won’t fall into the trap of the past of issuing illegal
or fake/forged ITCs to release our players – because
we are going to deal with any individuals or institutions
involved with all the means at our disposal.
This also serves as a final warning to APR and other Rwandan
clubs. If they want any players from SC Villa, or Uganda generally,
let them follow the normal procedures and not behave like
they are hunting in a wild bush or some jungle where there
is no law or due process. APR has never paid SC Villa the
$3,000 that is long overdue from the transfer of James Kayimba,
and they now think they can take Philip Ssozi for $1,000 (Shs
1.7 million). Even locally, players don’t cost so little.
If they want Ssozi, they must pay SC Villa a minimum of $6,000
or they will never have him.
Mr. Francisco Mugabe
PRESIDENT
SC Villa (UGANDA)
