Rwanda’s most successful club APR have acquired the services of Cranes hard-tackling midfielder Johnson Bagoole from rivals Atraco FC.
APR’s technical director Emmanuel Kanamugyire said on Saturday, that the industrious midfielder will join Rwanda’s record winners next season in a deal worth Shs42m ($20,000). Bagoole will pocket Shs2m per month.
“An agreement has been reached between the two clubs. We have agreed personal terms with Bagoole and he should join us in three weeks for pre-season training,” said Kanamugyire.
Bagoole, a former Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) player, spent three years with Atraco. He won the 2008 league title and this year’s Cecefa Kagame Cup with Atraco. Kanamugyire, who is in Uganda on a scouting mission also added that APR intends to get five more new signings to boost their squad.
APR are also keen on signing Omar Hitimana from Kampala City Council (KCC). “I am meeting the KCC officials to discuss Omar’s move. We need a big squad to be able to compete favourably both on the continent and locally,” Kanamugyire added.
A fortnight ago, APR captured the league title on the final day, defeating Mukura 2-0. Sam Timbe’s Atraco finished second.
