Tickets for the Uganda Cranes versus Mena du
Niger African Nations Cup tie will today go on
sale after consultations with the different stakeholders.
The game is scheduled for Spetember 8 at Namboole.
Federation of the Uganda Football Associations
(Fufa) President Lawrence Mulindwa confirmed at
the Fufa Annual General Assembly that contrary
to the earlier press reports that fans can start
purchasing tickets at all MTN and Simba Telecom
outlets nationwide.
“We have finalised all arrangements with
MTN and Simba Telecom and the fans can now buy
their tickets in time at all the two companies
outlets countrywide.
“We do not want congestions at the gates
and I believe the new system will be adopted in
all the future international matches,” Mulindwa
said. A ticket to the general stands is to cost
Shs10,000, while ones for the blue seats and pavilion
will cost Shs 20,000 and Shs30,000 respectively.
Mulindwa has meanwhile threatened to reshuffle
all the sub committees and the executive immediately
after the qualifier against Niger. The Fufa boss
said that the reshuffle will mainly focus on non-performers.
“We have to get moving, the reshuffle will
mainly affect those who have not performed as
expected when I appointed them, it will be soon,”
Mulindwa warned.
At the same assembly, Kumi, Kaberamaido, Gulu,
Kyenjojo, Moroto, Nakapiripipiti, Kitgum, Kibaale,
Katakwi, Kotido and Moyo districts were suspended
for non performance.
